Dr. Dr. Cristina Bostan

Dr. Cristina Bostan completed the combined Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science program, followed by Ophthalmology residency training on the Clinician-Investigator track at the Université de Montréal. She served as Chief Resident and was named to the Dean’s list upon graduation from her residency program.

She went on to pursue a one-year clinical and surgical fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the Cole Eye Institute of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, where she gained expertise in the management of the entire spectrum of corneal conditions and performed high-volumes of ocular surface procedures, corneal transplantations, complex anterior segment, cataract and lens-based procedures, and laser-based surgeries, including corneal crosslinking, phototherapeutic keratectomy, LASIK, PRK and SMILE.

Dr Bostan additionally pursued a one-year research fellowship in corneal disease and is currently finalizing a Master in Translational Research at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Bostan is now a Cornea, External Disease, Cataract/Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery specialist at the Centre universitaire d’ophtalmologie de l’Université de Montréal at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Université de Montréal, and an Associate Clinician at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Center. In this role, she supervises medical students, ophthalmology residents, and cornea fellows. She is also actively involved in research, with the overarching goal of accelerating the speed at which emerging therapies reach her patients.

Her research work has received numerous awards and grants – including from provincial and national major granting agencies – and has been the subject of over 100 publications and presentations locally and internationally.

In her clinical work, Dr. Bostan values patient partnership and patient satisfaction above all, and aims to provide the highest-quality, up-to-date care to every patient.
